What are the benefits?

Pilates is very good at negating the bad movement patterns and behaviours we adopt. Things like sitting down for too long and hunching over an electronic device. 

 

Often you will hear people say they put their back out gardening or getting something out of the car awkwardly. This is usually due to weaknesses in the body itself rather than the activity. 

 

Pilates is effective because it addresses these postural imbalances within the body. We stand straighter, we can flex and rotate our spine and our limbs are positioned where they should be. Once we achieve this we can help to protect our bodies from pain and injury.

Pilates is accessible and beneficial to all ages and levels of fitness. The exercises are performed in a precise, controlled manner and can be adapted to suit you as an individual. Because it is low impact it does not will stress on the body.
